Minutes [Subject to Approval] of ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING held on Thursday 21st May 2009 at Crossgates Community Centre at 7.30 pm

1. Chairman’s Report:
“Generally speaking, the past year has been one of success with regard to visible improvements within the Ward.
In a roughly chronological order, we have had the establishment and development of the community website. This has grown to become an example to neighbouring communities, and has further potential to grow and become an indispensable tool for communication and publicity within the local area.
We have also managed to realize a long held ambition, namely to provide a bus shelter specifically for schoolchildren awaiting the bus to school in inclement weather. This was thought to be beyond our financial means, however a redundant shelter has been obtained and installed for a third of the cost of a new one.
Finally, the damage to our noticeboard by vandals has been repaired.
It is not my intention to name any Councillor for their particular efforts. The Council has worked well together, each contributing to the team as a whole. There is, of course, no intention of resting on our laurels. There are, after all, still improvements to be made within the Ward and civil servants to bring to heel!”
2. Minutes of AGM dated 8th May 2008 - Accepted
3. Election of Chairman: Nick Shepperd proposed by Terry Simpson and seconded by Huw Jeffries.
4. Election of Vice Chairman: Derek Price proposed by Huw Jeffries and seconded by Nick Shepperd. Both positions agreed unanimously.
5. Community Centre Representative – Peter Cross to take up role. Clerk to inform
committee of contact details.
6. Acceptance of Standing Orders.
