LLANBADARN FAWR & DISTRICT COMMUNITY CENTRE (CROSSGATES)

On the A44 between Crossgates and Penybont, just east of the railway bridge, stands the Llanbadarn Fawr and District Community Centre.  Formerly the local primary school, the building is now leased out by the Powys County Council as a community centre and is used regularly as a meeting place by local groups, such as the Womens' Instutute, British Legion, Young Farmers Union and the Community Council,  It also serves as the local Polling Station!  The Centre is administered by a Management Committee, formed by volunteers giving their time and energy in the roles of Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary and Treasurer with representatives from user groups making up its complement. The committee controls bookings for the centre, security, maintenance, cleaning and the funds needed for these activities.
