Minutes of the Meeting held on Thursday 4th December 2008

2. Minutes of Last Meeting
Minutes of the Meeting held on 6th November 2008 were read and agreed.
3. Matters Arising
Item 4: Verge damage near Penybryn – Trunk Road Agency to investigate/repair.
4. Highway Matters
a. Water leak on road verge outside Briar Field on A483. No response from PCC, despite letters and emails (first concern raised in May 2008).
b. Derek to follow up further contractor quotes re. Bus shelter near Tan-y-Fron.
c. Possible investigations to improve the safety of the Rock Road/A483 junction.
5. Community Website
This continues to grow in the number of visitors, over 800 being recorded to date. Linked pages to both BBC News and Weather have been added. Further pages will be included as necessary to cover contributions received and approved by the Council.
6. Financial Report
a. Precept. Next years budget was discussed. Basically, outgoings will remain as for 2008 and allowing for the following:
1) Website Host rental
2) Inflation Rate of 5%
3) Paying realistic wages to the Clerk of the Council
On that basis it was Agreed unanimously to raise the Precept for Financial Year 2009 to £4000.00, allowing all expenditure to be met without using slender reserves.
b. As yet there has still been no response from the Community Centre Management Committee for a copy of their Accounts and therefore our grant to them remains unpaid.
7. Correspondence
Welsh Assembly. The Assembly has requested comments on a proposed review of AM’s Salaries and Expenses. Some discussion, but a reply was deferred.
8. Planning
Planning Application made to double the size of the egg production site at Dolau Jenkin. No objection raised.
9. Any Other Business
None
