Minutes of the meeting held on Thursday 1^st September 2011

Present:

Derek Price, Wendy Griffin, Philip Knill, Tony Cooke, Jo Early (clerk),

1.         Apologies: Karen Sherwood, Huw Jeffries

2.         Minutes from last meetin  7^th July              - approved and signed by chair

Matters arising                                        - Allotments – lots of local interest; where to plot them is still an issue.

-Playground – PCC has been contacted – awaiting response

- Newsletter to include Station signs; bus shelter; bridge; roundabout;   com.centre; school donation; path clearing.

- Noticeboard – Derek has spoken to Ian Ward re quote for a new one

3.         Highway Matters

·         Station signs are up and functioning

·         Chase up Briarfield drainage issue                                                - Derek to action

4.         Update from Powys County Council

·         Cllr Fred Barker was unable to attend the meeting

5.    Village and Community Issues

·         Community Centre update – positive comments about going forward plans with new committee and plans to increase business.

·         Hedge on Guidfa Meadows has been trimmed back.

·         Request from local resident for a circular walk map to be put onto notice board; possibly on hold until new notice board is up.

6.    Website Update

·         4900 approx hits to date

·         Ringmaster updated

·         Redstation renewal notice for annual subscription – proposed to continue by P Knill and agreed unanimously to carry on with Mr Peter Cross as the web master – subject to confirmation of price.

7.    Financial Reports

·         Community account - £1197.43 CR @ 22 Aug 2011

·         Audit for 2009/2010 signed off – clerk to post to BDO

8.    Correspondence

·         PCC – Renewal of planning services comments requested:-

Planning lists to be emailed weekly

Voiced concerned from community councils re planning issues are often ignored and unappreciated

·         PCC – Notice of Review of Polling Districts & Polling Places notice under Regs 2006.  To be displayed in Post Office.

·         Royal Horticultural Society “ In Bloom” campaign information – Tony to read and report back

·         Mid Wales Housing Annual Report 2011 – noted

·         Dyfed Powys Police Authority – inspection of audit of accounts yr end 31^st March 2011 notification – noted

·         One Voice Wales Autumn 2011 Programme of training courses – noted

·         BDO Audit Briefing Winter 2011 – noted and filed

·         SMP Playground 10% discount leaflet – filed

·         PCC – invitation to CC Mike Hodges Harvest Festival at Holy Trinity on 25^th September – invitation declined

·         PCC – invitation to attend Chairmans informal occasion on 4^th October – invitation declined.

        9.         Planning

·         P2011/0573 – Householder – Demolition of existing stable and erection of new building & ancillary accommodation/workshop at the Old Mill Cottage, Crossgates – no objections.
