Minutes of the meeting held on Thursday 3^rd April  2008 

Present:

Matters Arising:

3.       Highways Matters

• The Trunk Road Agency is supportive of the drop kerb at the entrance to Guidfa Meadows.
• No response as yet from PCC with regard to the Street Lighting Survey.
• Public Litter Bins – by the bus stop and Guidfa House are overflowing – Fred Barker to action.

4.       Update from Fred Barker, PCC

• It was emphasized that Nomination Papers had to be in by 12 noon, Friday 4^th April.
• He informed the council that he had met an interested member of the community who was interested in becoming a councilor.  Fred has given him relevant information, N Shepperd to contact him over next month.
• The proposed closure of Howey School in Aug 2008 has been extended to Aug 2009, with the proposal of the new school being built in Newbridge being accepted.
• At a board meeting it was stated that the initial budget of £400,000 to carry out the work needed at the Lake in Llandrindod was not realistic and they needed £800,000 – decision has been deferred until funding has been found.

5.       Financial Reports

• Operating account – balance £1218.13 CR at 22^nd March 2008.
• Council tax Bills 2008/2009 – it was noted that the community council contribution was £10.87 per band D household.

6.       Correspondence

• PCC Planning – copy of the letter re. registering for planning online services.
• Insurance renewal – due June 2008, J Early to seek clarification of policy and what it is covering from insurance company.
• WAG Statutory guidance on developing and delivering community strategies & Draft Fire & Rescue Service 2008-2011.  N Shepperd to read.
• Dyfed Powys Police Poster for local justice – unable to display due to size restrictions.
• PCC Planning – the 16 new houses to be built alongside Oak Tree View is to be called Oak Tree Meadows – no objections.

Fred Barker has left the meeting.

7.       Planning Applications

• P2008 0353 – Farm Shop at Church Farm – no objections

8.       Any other Business

• Next meeting moved from 1^st May to 8^th May due to the elections.
• Community Council Info on PCC website is incorrect, J Early to contact to amend.
• No WE40 forms for election received – acceptance of office forms.
• H Jeffreys and T Simpson to contact Planning Monitoring Officer and queries do not appear to be followed up or information disseminated back to council on a regular basis.
