Minutes of the meeting held on Thursday 7th August 2008

1.       Apologies:

Matters Arising:

·         Local Government partnership agreement – clerk to query distribution as we also have Llanbadarn Fynydd CC copy

·         Declarations of Interest:-  Nick Shepperd is members of the British Legion & Golden Age Club.  Derek Price is a school governor for Crossgates Primary.

3.       Highways Matters:

• Bus Shelter – D Price to draft a letter to officially request bus shelter, depending on price of collection and siting of shelter.

• Traffic/Speed counter in village – D Price to draft a letter to Tony Caine requesting official report.

4.       Update from Fred Barker, PCC

• Nothing to report

5.       Financial Reports

• Bank Balance at 22 July 2008 - £1607.49

• Clerks Invoice for May/June/July £458 - paid

• Post Office documents has been sent off to close account

• Mandate for signatories signed by P Knill & P Cross

6.       Correspondence

• Keep Wales Tidy Award – no action

• One Voice Wales Membership – no action

• Society of Local Clerks membership – no action

• Ray Parry Playground Services leaflet – D Price to read

• PAVO Newsletter – N Shepperd to read

• Consultation of street lighting proposals – letter received from business performance at PCC, still no response within the promised 20 days – clerk to contact Cliff Shields

• WAG Consultation document received re phone boxes - to be filed no action

• Air Ambulance Raffle Tickets x 2 booklets – N Shepperd to action

• “A Shared Community” Final Guidance – D Price to read

7.       Planning Applications

• Delegation lists from May & June received & filed

• Planning permission granted – PR664100

• Planning application P2008 0143 – Mr Ian Davies – refused

• P2008 0858 Dolau Jenkin Farm – comments to be forwarded to PCC Planning – clerk has requested that original application be returned to her

• P2008 0605 37 Houses adjacent to Tanyfron has been withdrawn

• Community Council members to be added to planning update list on PCC website – clerk to action

8.       Any other Business

• Clerk to contact local PC to invite to next meeting – to request info on crimes records and detection rates for area also community/neighbourhood watch schemes.

• Website – reported back that PCC IT department could initially set up at a commercial cost.  Community Council would be looking at setting up a ‘community’ website to include accommodation, amentities and council news.  Facts and thoughts to be brought to next meeting.  Clerk to contact Nick Talbot re setting up costs.

• Co-option of Mrs Jenny Bowman onto council.
