Minutes of the meeting held on Thursday 3rd July 2008

Matters Arising:

Highways Matters:

Bus Shelter D Price
reported no further news. He will draft a letter requesting the shelter
formally from the council.

Night Lighting Survey No
response from PCC re letter and survey sent by J Early in reply to
consultation letter. Part night lighting has commenced and a query has arisen
from a resident of Guidfa Meadows the cluster of lights around the entrance
to the meadows is turned off. Street lighting at PCC has been informed and
will investigate. D Price voiced concern that it is a main junction off a
trunk road and questioned the legal requirements.

Traffic/Speed counter in
village to monitor provision of the 20mph speed limit. Readings taken
between 8.00am 9.30am and significant proportion were still over 30 mph. J
Early to contact Tony Caine for official copy of the report.

Another traffic counter is
recognized as being owned by developer; it is immediately north of the 30mph
speed limit sign and is not a true reading as it is where people gain speed.

Verge at Penybryn an
inspector has visited the site and works have been instructed and will be
completed asap.

Drainage works on Crossgates
road have now finished.

Update from Fred Barker, PCC
-
British Telecom are acting
to save money call boxes are under threat. The one positioned at the bottom
of Guidfa Meadows has recorded less than 400 calls per year.

Fred Barker has been elected
Deputy Chairman of the Peoples Committee.

Letter from PCC
acknowledging letter from T Simpson and H Jeffries. Stated that the issues
would be dealt with environmental services and housing department.

acknowledging letter from T Simpson and H Jeffries re the housing of static
caravans without permission and initial queries. J Early to request more
information by the next meeting and also to invite to the next meeting.

Free Range chicken farm only seen by Nick, Phil, Huw and Terry. Emphasized
that if the 21 days for response falls between meeting it will no reflect a
true picture of feelings.

Extension for such cases to
be asked for by J Early possible solution is to have a sub-committee within
council to deal with such applications.

Declaration of interest
training that J Early attended explained new form to be produced by PCC
everyone to be aware of requirements.

website to be put on agenda for next meeting.

Wind Farm Plan returned by
Terry, passed to Derek to read.
